It is quite hard to have a fair judgement on this book, since I've played the game too.
Even though I already knew the story from playing the game (Assassin's Creed II) I really enjoyed reading. In the game you can't get insight in what Ezio is thinking or feeling, which you do get in the book. It's also nice to have the story in a straight line (in the game you have several things that will come in between).
I do feel like everything rushed by, that the story went very fast compared to other books that I've read. It also might be hard to follow at some points, since there are a lot of characters.
In short, I think the book is worth reading it, if you are interested in ancient and assassin - like things.
